The 3D filament printer
for model production in orthodontics
With the SIMPLEX from Renfert, a 3D filament printer has been available since 2022 that covers the entire range of orthodontic model production and combines several benefits.
SIMPLEX Sliceware with pre-installed presets
The innovative printing system offers, among other things, a slicer software specially developed for dental applications. Thanks to stored filament profiles and predefined settings for typical orthodontic models (e.g. diagnostic, laboratory or aligner models), it allows for easy ‘plug and print’. No more time-consuming preliminary determination of suitable parameters – instead, consistently reproducible printing results are achieved.
Highly detailed print results with high process reliability
With a layer resolution of up to 50 µm, the SIMPLEX 3D filament printer ensures extremely detailed model results that no longer require any post-processing. A filament monitoring system and automated error correction ensure a high level of process reliability, while intuitive touchscreen navigation and low noise levels (≤ 49 dB) make the device easy to use and pleasant to work with.
Four special filaments for different applications.
Four different filaments are currently available for the 3D printer, which are harmless to health and each have excellent properties. SIMPLEX study model, SIMPLEX working model and SIMPLEX multi-use model are made of PLA plastic or are based on it. The material is biologically harmless and can even be composted (in appropriately designed facilities). In addition to PLA, SIMPLEX multi-use model also contains a large proportion of hard plaster, which makes printed models billable in many cases. The SIMPLEX aligner model filament is specially designed for the requirements of aligner production and thermoforming technology, withstanding temperatures of up to 160°C as well as the pressure or vacuum required for forming during thermoforming.
Cooperation with FORESTADENT
During the final development phase, Renfert, the manufacturer of SIMPLEX, had been looking for a suitable distribution partner for its 3D filament printing system, which can be used especially in orthodontics. FORESTADENT quickly stepped in.
