Biocompatibility
Nickel-free materials minimize the risk of allergic reactions in sensitive patients.
Treatment for allergy patients
By avoiding nickel, these treatments offer a safe alternative.
Nickel-free orthodontics
Modern nickel-free solutions ensure effective tooth alignment without compromising comfort and safety.
Brackets and buccal tubes
Our solutions for nickel allergies
Ceramic brackets are generally considered to be a nickel-free alternative – but we go one step further. Our metal brackets in the Sprint family and the Comfort Line buccal tubes offer a safe, hypoallergenic solution.
The nickel content of the material used in the metal injection molding (MIM) manufacturing process is only ≤ 0.1 percent. This makes the brackets and buccal tubes ideal for nickel-free treatment – without having to sacrifice the advantages of metal brackets.
Orthodontic archwires
Our Nickel Allergy Solutions
Nickel is also an important issue when it comes to orthodontic archwires. Nickel-titanium wires usually contain 50 to 60 percent nickel, and even steel wires usually have a nickel content of 6 to 9.5 percent. We developed our Betaflex Titanium and BT3 archwires for nickel-friendly treatment. These solutions are made from a fully nickel-free alloy, ensuring maximum safety while still allowing flexibility during treatment.
Removable appliances
OUR SOLUTIONS FOR NICKEL ALLERGY
Nickel is also a crucial factor when it comes to removable appliances such as laboratory wires or expansion screws. Laboratory wires typically contain 6 to 9.5 percent nickel, while standard expansion screws contain between 8 and 10 percent. With our titanium expansion screw and FORESTANIT Ni-Free laboratory wires, we offer an almost nickel-free alternative that is also suitable for allergy sufferers.
