Option 1: Thermoforming

This method has been tried and tested for years and makes it possible to create models of the treatment phases based on the 3D scan. The models are printed with a 3D printer, and the desired aligners are then created using a thermoforming machine.

Precise intraoral scan

This forms the foundation of the entire treatment plan.

Step 2

Planning software

The software processes the 3D data to calculate the optimal tooth position for each step of the treatment. 3D data for model printing is exported.

Step 3

Model printing

The models are subsequently printed with a 3D printer.

Step 4

Thermoforming

The desired aligners are produced using a thermoforming machine.

Option 2: Direct Print Aligner

Thanks to advancements in 3D printing technology, a revolutionary new option has emerged: the Direct Print Aligner. Instead of printing the models and then working with thermoforming units, the aligners themselves are created directly as a 3D file and printed. Thanks to special printing resins developed specifically for aligners, the classic thermoforming process is no longer necessary, which simplifies and accelerates the entire workflow.
