Rapid assistance

through donations

War has been raging in Europe for weeks following Russia’s attack on Ukraine. By early April 2022, well over four million people* had left their home country and sought protection in neighbouring countries or other European states. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians have now also fled to Germany to seek safety for themselves and their families, including, in particular, mothers with their children and the elderly.

FORESTADENT, a long-established company based in Pforzheim, wants to support those affected by this war and has therefore donated a total of €10,000 to four local non-profit organisations. GoldenHearts UG, which offers language courses to refugees to help them integrate into German society, will receive €2,500 of the donation. The Rotary Club and Caritas will also receive €2,500 each. In addition to providing food and medication in the war zone, Caritas also organises various projects for people who have fled to Germany (e.g. distribution of clothing or coronavirus testing and vaccination campaigns). Furthermore, the money goes to the Diakonie, which, among other things, offers help and advice to Ukrainian refugees during their initial orientation, on topics such as housing and social benefits, or in dealing with authorities.
